Living n the Philippines will require adjustment if you’re going to be happy. You’ll likely miss some things from your homeland at first. I did but that quickly faded away. I have been living in the Philippines for three years and I love it here.
The cost of living in the Philippines is substantially less than that in any Western nation. Now I do know some expats that don’t agree with that but the live a much richer life in the USA and the Philippines that I do. In fact, most don’t actually live here. They are rich and they vacation here. Some for extended times but still, they don’t live here.
I know expats living in the Philippines that earn less than $1000 a month and are happy. What you need to live in the Philippines depends on you but I give $1000 as the figure that I recommend. I recommend it with much qualification though. For some it isn’t enough. It would be hard for me to live here on that but I don’t live on a great deal more than that.
Living on a low income the USA makes it very difficult to date. Living in the Philippines on that same amount will not be a low income. You will be well off compared to most Filipino. This will open many doors for your romantic live. Filipina don’t care so much about looks and age, they do usually want a better life. Something you can easily give most Filipino with an income of $1000 a month.
If you’re well off and young, then living in the Philippines will be very interesting for you.
