How to Have the proper Attitude

Lots of folks go into IM thinking that theyll get to spend all day goofing offplaying video games, watching television, going to the moviesand subsequently do a few hours of work every day and be done. Obviously this is not truly how functioning online works. Just like at every other job, the attitude you employ will set the rate for how much success you should find (or won’t, if that is the case).

If you think “I never want to do any work” then you can believe you are not going to make any money. If you approach it seriously and retain a positive mindset, however, you could wind up making lots of money every day. Here are some suggestions to give you a hand.
1. See it like a regular career because that is what it is: a career. So many fresh IMers simply settle in on the sofa with a laptop computer and the remote control. They appear to imagine that it’s totally possible to do just a little bit of work while still slacking off. Keeping a television set on in the background for background noise (or the radio) is something. Parking your self facing it is another. You have to have a workplace to work at. This will allow you to keep the doing the job time independent from the entertaining time.

Sure you’ll probably really feel like you’re back at a “regular” position but that’s okay.
2. You will need to set standard working hours. Perhaps the nicest thing about IM is that you have a much wider variety of working hours to choose from. When you earn your living on the net you won’t have to live by that tired “nine to five” mindset. At the same time you need to reserve a few hours every day that are just for working. If you discover that you will get much more done later in the day, set aside your work hours for that time. This is great because it is possible to train your body eventually to be in “work” mode at certain times of day so that, eventually, you won’t have to make yourself get to work, your body will want to do it naturally.

3. Have a positive perspective. This may sound seriously cheesy but the truth is that remaining upbeat and believing “I can do this” is often exactly what you need to meet your goals. It is not all that different than the way telemarketers are told to truly smile while they are talking because people will be able to “hear” the smile. When you tell yourself that “I am good at this”, “I can absolutely do this” or even “I am absolutely going to meet my goals today” that will translate into the things you do and your clients will pick up on it as well.

A lot of folks imagine that the whole “have the right attitude” thing is extremely cliche and something best left to Oprah but the truth is that people who achieve high success levels get there because they had a good attitude. People who believe “I want money to find me” do not create a great deal of money at all but people who think “I am going to make money today” find high levels of success!
