Will Blogging Make You Rich?

How does 1 million a year from your blog sound?

Or how does $40 bucks a month sound?

Whether you have been blogging for years or have just started, we all want to make money from our blog or blogs. The majority of us would love to quit our daytime or nighttime jobs or even both so that we can focus on “just” blogging our way to the bank.

There is nothing wrong with thinking that one day you can retire, sit on a beach with your laptop, sip on a margarita and post some articles on your blog while you rank in the cash. Many people call this “make money while you sleep”. money Here is the bad news:

Your blogging is NOT going to make you wealthy and may NOT even pay your monthly electric bill !

Not to get worried or angry at me for saying this, but, in all honesty, this is a truthful fact that we do not want to realize.

Please do not give up because there is hope and light at the end of this tunnel. All you have to do is read on. There are a few important facts and tips I would like to share with you about blogging and making money from blogs.

Not to bore you to death but I have given up several times blogging. I have quit, thrown out tons of paper from research, deleted domains and hosting accounts and even went as far as unplugging my computer and putting it in the closet! I have been blogging now for 5 years. Thank goodness i have kept some of my senses and knowledge about blogging and put it to use in a more positive way. Let me tell you this: You CAN get rich from blogging and retire and sip those margaritas on the beach if you want to. The method for this is to NOT give up and to keep on trying.

I am starting to make some good money from blogging and still have a lot of learning to do. You see, learning and research is a valuable key in any project or goal in life. Knowledge is sometimes more valuable than gold. I have failed in the past because i was putting all of my “eggs” in one basket.

This is a very big “NO-NO” in the blogging industry. If you plan on retiring one day from just 1 blog, you are thinking the wrong way. Yes, you can make money from one blog if done correct and think that all is well and quit your job but you have to remember this: Always have a backup plan !  thinkhave several blogs and have 3 goals when blogging.

1. Short Term Income This is the blog that makes you enough money to pay for the little to medium stuff. (small bills, snacks, movie, cheap dinner..etc..)

2. Medium Term Blog Income This may be the blog that eventually takes over your “short term” blog. This is the blog that you put a little more effort into. Write more keyword-rich posts, comment on other blogs to build backlinks, SEO Adsense or affiliate links, target larger niche bloggers and try and stay one step ahead. This is the blog that may take a year or more to get going but the good news is that you can fund yourself on your short term blog while doing this. and finally,

3. Your Long-Term Blog This is your “Grand Daddy“, your “Potential Gold Mine“, your “sweet love of all blogs“… This is your blog that will take you time to master. This one will have you talking about it to people that you meet.

This is the blog that when you wake up every morning you are excited to get to work on it and check you stats on. Having income coming in from your short and medium blogs, you should be able to re-invest into your 3rd blog with the money you are making.

Do your research on your niche, write down any ideas, make a list of hours per day you are going to work on this blog, ALWAYS check other sites with similar content and keep a sharp eye on your competition. You can always learn from others. Help others as well because it will come back your way eventually.

FOCUS TAKE RISKS HAVE A ROUTINE AND STICK WITH IT NEVER GIVE UP, EVER !

To sum this up: DIVERSIFY your ASSETS ! Never have all of your “eggs” in one basket. God forbid if something happened to your one blog that you put all of your time and effort into for years and then all of a sudden Google decided to disqualify or remove your blog from the search engines for what ever reason, you will be screwed! Believe me, it happens all the time. computer beach Always have several blogs. It will take time so have patience and learn, learn, learn. You can never learn enough.
